The Sprinters joining the Bristol-based company are being deployed by its two subsidiaries; County Tyre Service and British and International Tyre Supplies (BITS). The former issues many of them to mobile technicians who fit tyres at domestic and business premises while BITS uses them to deliver tyres to its wholesale customers.
The Sprinters are being sourced through dealer City West Commercials, and County Tyre (Holdings) plans to replace its remaining 68 vehicles with Mercedes over the next three years.
“Sprinters are reliable and well-built,” says warehouse manager, Matthew Martin, who is also responsible for the firm’s transport operation. “No matter how hard you work them, they don’t fall apart.”
Elsewhere, Surrey-based distribution company Office Gold has opted for half-a-dozen Sprinters supplied through dealer Rossetts Commercials. All 311CDIs, they replace four-year-old Sprinters that have clocked up around 160,000 miles apiece with the Guildford firm.
