Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has announced its all-new Crafter panel van will cost from £23,920.

Set to make its UK debut at April’s Commercial Vehicle Show in April, first deliveries are due to commence in May.

All Crafters are powered by a 2.0-litre diesel unit, which offers four power outputs – 102hp, 122hp, 140hp and 172hp. Engine efficiency information has not been revealed at this stage, but the German manufacturer claimed the new powertrain will offer a significant reduction in CO2 emissions compared with the outgoing model.

Customers will also be able to choose between four-wheel drive and front-wheel drive, as well as manual and automatic transmission options.

Three trim line options are offered – Startline, Trendline and Highline – bringing the range into line with other VW models, while the van will be offered with three roof height options – 2.35m, 2.59m or 2.79m.

Standard kit includes an automatic post collision braking system, cross-wind assist function, and a radio with Bluetooth.

Trendline models – priced from £25,270 – add an emergency braking system, cruise control with speed limiter, a DAB radio, wooden flooring in the load area and grab handles on the rear entry pillars.

In addition to the previous two trim levels, Highline models – which are priced from £29,220 – add adaptive cruise control, parking sensors, a heated windscreen and a passenger airbag to the van’s equipment list.

All prices exclude VAT, and open-body and factory-fitted conversions are due to follow later this year.
