Murco chooses Mazdas

Date: Tuesday, September 1, 2009

Twenty-seven Mazda pick-ups are in service with Murco Petroleum now that dealer Motorworld Oxford has delivered the final batch.

A mixture of BT-50 4x2 Single Cabs and 4x4 TS Double Cabs, they’ve been supplied subject to 120,000-mile/five-year lease agreements with Arval. The pick-up fleet’s duties include transporting people, tools and equipment around the Milford Haven refinery and out to the jetty. “The Mazdas may only make short journeys but they’re in use round-the-clock,” says rotating equipment superintendent, Rob Staples, who is in charge of them.

All the BT-50s are powered by 143hp 2.5-litre diesels and some of them are fitted with options that include Truckman tops, load area liners and tow-bars. They were all installed by Motorworld Oxford.
