Three customised Mitsubishi L200 pick-ups have entered the 2019 ECB ‘SuperUtes’ Series, an Australian racing series where modified production pick-up trucks, or ‘Utes as they’re known down under, compete against each over eight weekends in a total of 24 races.
Backed by Mitsubishi Motors Australia the trucks carry the Triton name, in accordance with the manufacturer’s branding of the vehicle in the Australian market.
Based on standard production vehicles, the SuperUtes are powered by a tuned version of the stock 2.4-litre turbo-diesel engine with a larger GTurbo high-flow turbocharger.
