A fleet of 44 electric Nissan E-NV200 Dynamo van conversions is being deployed as taxis in Cardiff in a scheme managed by Day’s Rental.

The ‘try before you buy’ scheme gives Hackney-licenced taxi operators the chance to try the vehicles for 30 days at no cost, in an initiative overseen by the Welsh Government and Cardiff Capital Region, which have awarded Day’s Rental the management contract.

The vehicles are equipped to carry up to five passengers and adapted for wheelchair access, with a driving range of up to 180 miles per charge.

Day’s Rental managing director Mike McCarry said: “We are delighted to be a partner to this fantastic initiative.

“Our industry experience, paired with the award-winning customer service we are renown for, made us a strong and obvious contender for the award.”
